Hi, I'm Max
a data scientist.
4+ years of experience coding in Python and SQL. Proficient in ML packages such as SK-Learn and Pytorch.
Excellent ability to simplify and communicate large and complex datasets for analysis.
Analyzing data and creating statistical models in Python with structured and unstructured data.
Much of what I value about data science is its inherent problem-solving, and logical, yet creative nature.
Below are some of my projects where I analyze datasets, create visualizations or implement ML models.
I'm an aspiring data scientist who graduated from UCLA with a degree in biochemistry. Although originally a premed student, while conducting my senior year internship at a biotech company, InjectSense, I was exposed to programming and the growing impact of machine learning in healthcare.
As I learned more from the company, my fascination grew. I read studies about how people were creating deep learning models that could analyze images from MRIs to find deformities imperceptible to doctors, or how they could predict the outcomes of drug-DNA interactions, streamlining expensive, time-consuming trials and lab work. The medical industry was being revolutionized and I wanted to be a part of it.
After working for a year as a data analyst I got my Master's degree in data science in 2024 at the University of San Francisco. During the program I had the amazing opportunity to work at Stanford as a data scientist in the Ophthalmic Informatics and Artificial Intelligence group. During my time there, I helped lead research on predicting vision deterioration in glaucoma patients. Using a multi-modal machine learning architecture, our research surpassed prior benchmarks and was accepted for presentation at the American Medical Informatics Association, and is currently awaiting publication.
In my free-time you would most likely catch me doing some of my favorite activities:
